“Gob the Gnome™: Gob and the Return of the Gnomes,” the latest installment in a series, is now available worldwide, unveiling a magical and uplifting tale teaching about forest habitats and the power of kindness
In the latest tale from the beloved “Gob the Gnome” series, “Gob the Gnome™: Gob and the Return of the Gnomes” by Marilyn Slaughter, Ed.D., illustrated by Angie Neha, Nathan and Iris, alongside their magical gnome friends, face the aftermath of a devastating storm in Sunbrook Forest National Park. The storm has left the forest in disarray, with fallen trees and displaced animals. Despite the group’s efforts, the damage is too extensive for them alone to manage. Corni, the eldest gnome, recounts an ancient tale of how the gnomes were sent by royalty to protect the forest and the royals’ valuable treasures. He wished for more noble gnomes to help restore their beloved woods.
Back at home, a distraught Iris confides in her normally grumpy neighbor, Mr. Henderson, about the forest’s plight, while being careful not to reveal her magical gnome friends’ secret existence. Moved by Iris’s passion, Mr. Henderson embarks on an unexpected act of kindness, turning to social media to rally support for people to donate gnome statues to bring a bit of stability and luck back to the forest. His plan sets the stage for a magical surprise that will change Sunbrook Forest National Park forever.
Throughout the charming story, the children learn the ancient history of the gnomes and their important place in society. Young readers learn about the roles the trees and forest play in providing shelter for the animals. This charming story not only delights with its mythical elements but also inspires readers to learn about the many different types of forest habitats–like nests, holes, and burrows–while highlighting the magic of kindness.
Vibrantly illustrated and filled with important lessons, all six books in the Gob the Gnome™ series are inspired by the author’s fondness for nature and her dedication for making learning fun. Gob the Gnome™ – Gob and the Return of the Gnomes
This short story focuses on what devastation from a terrible storm could do to a forest and surrounding communities. A storm has ravaged large parts of Surbrook Forest National Park, home to Gob and other gnomes, and animals of the forest. Gob the gnome accepts that a few gnomes cannot restore the forest after the storm. Nathan and Iris are determined to find Gob friends to help care for and protect the forest. The children faced challenges with this task, it proved to be much more challenging than they had ever thought it would be. Iris and Nathan get help from a very surprising source.
Since the 1400s, folklore has described gnomes as guardians of treasure and the protectors of Earth. Gnomes represents stability, growth, and good luck. This is the six book of the six-book series about Gob the gnome. The six books in this series all revolve around Gob the gnome, the protector of a local forest, who becomes friends with Nathan and Iris and helps to educate them on the importance of caring for the environment.
